The author a Catholic priest conversant with Buddhist Culture and presents values of Buddhist teachings in a sympathetic way. The main thrust of this study is to highlight the difficulty ( which is ) spelt out in the first chapter which is foundational. The term crosscurrents in the title is meant to indicate in the wider socio-cultural spheres of East and West- beyond the confines of the two religions taken in the strict sense.
